Health and support
What personal support is available for international students?
Whatever your requirements you will find that there are student support services available at your chosen destination. Even before you set out, you will receive advanced information about accommodation, study organisation, clubs and societies, social life, sporting facilities, what to expect in a college-based system or of life on a university campus. At university itself, the focus is on closely supervised study with an emphasis on student welfare and close contact between staff and students to ensure maximum support. All institutions will have a student welfare officer and a students union offering advice and information on many areas concerning international students: immigration regulations, employment, fees and awards, as well as social activities and interest groups. Many will also have an International Officer. It is recommended that you contact institutions directly to find out what support services they offer.
