The Regional Training Centre (RTC), Singapore is part of a FCO global network of training centres. The RTC Network has three key aims: To provide staff with the capacity to explore, to offer them development opportunities to enhance their capability to perform and to inspire in individuals the confidence to deliver.
The training team in Singapore promote staff learning and development through delivering a wide range of ‘soft skills’ training and leadership development programmes across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. They also co-ordinate training services, provide advice to posts on good management practice by running periodic health checks to ensure posts are complying with the Investors in People Standard.
The RTC also hosts a number of courses run by UK-FCO trainers as well as regional conferences.
Staff at the High Commission are strongly encouraged to undertake courses run at the Regional Training Centre. These include courses such as Leadership & Management Development courses as well as job specific courses. Staff may also bid for external courses such as those held at the British Council.
The RTC in Singapore is one of the most well-equipped in the RTC Network with the capability to support a wide range of learning activities from face-to-face training, one-to-one coaching, to e-learning. There is a large training auditorium, two breakout rooms and a Learning Resource Centre equipped with the latest videos, books and e-learning resources.
