UK in Singapore - the British High Commission in Singapore
Britain has diplomatic missions in capital cities around the world. In Commonwealth countries such as Singapore, these are known as High Commissions (Embassies, in non-Commonwealth countries). The head of mission is the High Commissioner (the Ambassador, in non-Commonwealth countries).
Visa Application Centre
Since 31 March 2008 all United Kingdom entry clearance (visa) applications have been processed by the regional visa centre at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. This does not change the application process for customers in Singapore who should continue to apply at the
UK Visa Application Centre
at Robinson Road.
Note:
From 31 March 2009, students looking to study in the UK can apply for their visa through the new points-based system which will streamline the Student visa application process.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon travelled to Burma today calling for the release of pro democracy leader Aung San Su Kyi and to send a united international message to Burma on human rights abuses.
Reports that British Embassy staff in Iran may face trial

Following news that remarks by Ayatollah Jannati suggest some of our local staff in Iran may face trial, Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, stressed that 'we are urgently seeking clarification from the appropriate Iranian authorities'.
